 Model FAQs

  • What are the requirements for models?

    None! Whether you are just starting out as a fresh face or a long time modelling pro, we accept all submissions. Models under 18 MUST have parental consent forms signed to participate in all Seattle Fashion Week events.

  • What should I wear to casting calls?

    Please wear an all black outfit to our casting calls. We recommend a well-fitting outfit, 3-4 inch heels, hair tied back or away from your face, and a fresh faced makeup look.

  • How do I submit my photos?

    After you have filled out our online submission form, please email your images to casting@seattlefw.com. We require 1 headshot and 1 full body image. Digital comp cards are also accepted.

  • Are there open casting calls for Seattle Fashion Week?

    Seattle Fashion Week does pre-registered casting calls. All models are required to submit on our website in order to be invited to our casting calls, it makes it easier for everyone. Models that have submitted to SFW during previous years are not required to resubmit. As a past SFW model, your information is already in our database and you are more than welcome to attend our casting calls!

  • What happens after I have submitted?

    After our team has reviewed your submission, your information will be added to our model database. From there, we select & invite each model to our SFW casting calls. We select models from in person castings based on designer requirements.

  • Are models paid?

    In 2018, Seattle Fashion Week was resettled under the management of Valata Foundation as a non-profit organization. At this time, all staff positions are philanthropic and on a voluntary basis. Though not monetary, participants and volunteers still receive several benefits associated with participation in SFW events to include swag (when applicable), publicity, networking opportunities and more!

 Designer FAQs

  • How do I submit to show at Seattle Fashion Week?

    Visit our “Get Involved” section and fill out the form for designers. After you have completed the form, send 3-5 photos and/or a short video of your collection to designer@seattlefw.com.

  • I’ve shown at Seattle Fashion Week in the past, do I need to submit every year?

    No, once you have submitted as a designer we add your information to our internal database where it is kept on file indefinitely. From there, we select specific designers and invite them to show at our events.

  • Does Seattle Fashion Week preview designers before they are accepted to show?

    Yes, all designers invited to show at our events must submit to a preview of their collection. Our designer team will facilitate this with you. If you have further questions about previewing, please email designer@seattlefw.com.

  • Is there a fee to show at Seattle Fashion Week events?

    Yes, there are designer fees based upon the size of the collection and the specific event that you are invited to participate in. We send a designer packet to each of the designers invited to participate which includes further information on fees.

Beauty Staff FAQs

  • How do I submit my portfolio?

    After you have filled out our form in our “Get Involved” section, please email a sample of your portfolio to hmua@seattlefw.com

  • How many HMUA team members are there at an event?

    Based on the size and type of event we have 5-20 Beauty Staff members working on any particular day.

  • What happens after I have submitted?

    After our team has reviewed your submission, your information will be added to our HMUA database. From there, we select & invite each artist to be part of our event(s). We select our HMUA team members based on who we feel would be the best fit for each event.

  • Are Beauty Staff paid?

 Photographer/Videographer FAQs

  • How do I submit my portfolio?

    After you have filled out our form in our “Get Involved” section, please email a sample of your portfolio to photographers@seattlefw.com

  • Are there a set number of photographers & videographers per event?

    Yes, based on the size and type of event we usually have 3-5 photographers per day per event as well as 1-2 videographers per day per event.

  • What happens after I have submitted?

    After our team has reviewed your submission, your information will be added to our photographer database. From there, we select & invite each photographer to be part of our event(s). We select photographers based on who we feel would be the best fit for each event.

  • Are photographers/videographers paid?

Staff and Volunteer FAQs

  • Are staff members paid?

    In 2018, Seattle Fashion Week was resettled under the management of Valata Foundation as a non-profit organization. At this time, all staff positions are philanthropic and on a voluntary basis. Though not monetary, participants and volunteers still receive several benefits associated with participation in SFW events to include swag (when applicable), publicity, networking opportunities and more!

  • Is experience required to be a volunteer staff member?

    No experience is necessary to apply to our team. We accept all volunteer submissions, must be 18 years or older to apply. For some positions experience is preferred but not required.

  • What happens after I have submitted?

    After our team has reviewed your submission, your information will be added to our internal database. From there, we invite select individuals to interview to be a part of our staff. We select persons based on who we feel would be the best fit for each event. We also select our volunteer teams from this same database. If selected, you will recieve an email inviting you to participate as a volunteer from our volunteer coordinator.

Sponsors and Partnerships FAQs

  • I represent a business that would like to partner with SFW as a sponsor, how do we submit?

    Potential sponsors and donors may fill out the sponsorship form found in the “Get Involved” area of our website. You will recieve a confirmation email giving you the necessary information about your next steps.

  • What kind of sponsors are generally accepted?

    We accept a wide variety of sponsors from various industries. We do not currently accept political, pharmacutical, cannabis, or weapon sponsors. Alcohol sponsors are accepted on a case by case basis.

  • What happens after I have submitted?

    After our team has reviewed your submission, your information will be added to our internal database. From there, we select our sponsors per event, for the year. Your business will then recieve our Sponsorship packet, proposal contract, and credit card authorization form. Once these have been filled out returned, and payment has been recieved, we require a logo in vector format for our marketing team.

  • What are the benefits of becoming a sponsor?

    There are many benefits to becoming a SFW sponsor. Among these include complimentary tickets to our events, special discounts, partnership deals, marketing opportunities, and much more. Benefits are determined by sponsorship level and commitment to supporting Seattle Fashion Week.
